Nearly all solar providers list home ownership and occupancy as an eligibility criteria to become a customer. This criteria eliminates the ability for a a significant portion of the population to access the benefits of solar. This leads to a significant cost shift as solar home and businesses, which are owned by their occupants, have access to savings that renters are not eligible for. The industry needs a solution to maintain socioeconomic balance.
