Gridmates brings peer to peer energy sharing in the first transactive energy platform to eliminate energy poverty

Gridmates is the first cloud platform for peer to peer energy sharing. Gridmates is a transactive energy platform that empowers utility customers with the ability to share units of energy (kWh) with friends and family members but also with people and organizations in need. Just with the click of a button from their smart phones or PCs.

Gridmates offers a unique ecosystem to eliminate energy poverty by connecting utilities, corporations, non profits and utility customers. In this ecosystem, individuals and corporation have the ability to send units of energy to people that live in energy poverty. In US, 40 million people face energy poverty every day!

With Gridmates, rooftop solar owners can now share their surplus of electricity with those in need. Utility customers that follow demand response programs have the ability to save energy and donate energy to those in need.

Gridmates is a startup company that has a unique pilot/beta testing.

Community First! Village, developed by the non-profit organization Mobile Loaves & Fishes in Austin Texas, is a-one-of-a-kind, 27 acre master-planned community that provides sustainable housing and a supportive community for the disabled and chronically homeless. Gridmates has partnered with Mobile Loaves & Fishes and expects to launch the pilot program in January 2015.

Our mission is to provide FREE electricity to 200 individuals in need in the Community First! Village. Together, we will make the Community First! Village the first globally powered community by crowd-sourced energy, energy shared by YOU!

Gridmates is a Smart Grid 3.0 Software as a Service (SaaS) provider to utilities. Utilities around the world can use Gridmates cloud platform and ecosystem to provide add on services to low income households and increase service offerings to their customers.
