CBE’s Occupant Feedback Toolkit is a fast and cost-effective way of collecting and understanding occupant feedback. Originally developed by the Center for the Built Environment (CBE) at the University of California, Berkeley for research purposes, this resource has become widely adopted by manufacturers, building owners and design professionals to evaluate energy-efficient systems and technologies, and to understand how buildings and workplaces support building occupants in terms of productivity and well-being. It has also been adopted by several building evaluation organizations.
The toolkit includes advanced web-based survey instruments that have been deployed in over 100 buildings, and that have gathered responses from over 100,000 individuals. This database of occupant feedback is unique, and represents the largest and most extensive resource of its kind in North America. The database also includes building characteristics that are valuable for analyzing survey results and trends.
